Title Research: Kung Fu Panda

- What titles are displayed during the opening sequences? The only title displayed at the opening is the title of the movie "Kung Fu Panda".

- What images are prioritized in the opening sequence? The image of Po walking along in what appears to be old China.

- What connotations do these images carry? That our story is not happening right now, but maybe in ancient China.

- How does the film establish a feeling of the genre from the outset? It establishes the feeling of the genre through Po's narration of the tale he is dreaming of and the funny end bit when he wakes up on the floor. 

- What strategies are used to ensure the film appeals to its target audience? This sequence uses a fun narration and a more primative animation as Po moves along in his warrior dream sequence. It takes you along a journey and makes it seem like a great adventure is about to happen. 

- How has technology been used effectively? You want to consider camera angles, transitions and editing techniques. While the entire title sequence is animated, it uses tracking to follow Po along throughout the sequence. Then it transitions to "real life" where Po wakes on the floor, stunned.

Final Task - Opening Title Sequence

https://youtu.be/N5hfNIovlYk And here is my final task. It did not come out as well as I had hoped, but I am very proud of it. After several days of filming and even more days of editing, I have created a finished product that I am happy with. In retrospect, I wish I had filmed more takes and that the energy in the scenes was a bit livelier. Looking back the parts that I thought would be easy were incredibly hard, and the parts I thought would be a breeze, really made me stumble and slowed me down. I hope you enjoy my opening title sequence.
