Creative Critical Reflection

  1. 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or issues?  

 My product challenges conventions by not being as serious as a a regular mask commercial.   And it challenges social issues by still informing people that that need to wear a mask for their own safety.

 

 
2. How does your product engage with audiences AND how would it be distributed as a real media text?  

 My product is meant to to grab the audiences attention and to try and persuade them to want to by it. It would be shown on tv.

 

 

 

  1. 3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?  

 While recording I was seeing if something was actually good and needed to be in it. So I did end up cutting some stuff out.

 

 

 

 

      4. How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?  

 

We added in backgrounds and even did some voice overs while editing my commercial.

  Creative Critical Reflection 1.   1.  . How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or  issues? m  My video challenges conventions by showing two boys falling in love, instead of the typical guy/girl dynamic. It shows two guys slowly getting to know each other and growing closer, just like how real world relationships work. It also shows it in a romantic, innocent way versus how gay relationships are often portrayed in the media. The way gay relationships are portrayed in the media tend to be typically negative, secretive, and/or "dirty", and involve sex versus shy, innocence and hand holding.       It represents social groups because it represents gay youths and uses trans and non-binary people in the filming. Representation is important. Seeing romantic relationships between LGBTQ people should be normalized. We need to see more relationships like this portrayed like this in the media. If i...

Final Task - Opening Title Sequence

https://youtu.be/N5hfNIovlYk And here is my final task. It did not come out as well as I had hoped, but I am very proud of it. After several days of filming and even more days of editing, I have created a finished product that I am happy with. In retrospect, I wish I had filmed more takes and that the energy in the scenes was a bit livelier. Looking back the parts that I thought would be easy were incredibly hard, and the parts I thought would be a breeze, really made me stumble and slowed me down. I hope you enjoy my opening title sequence.
