Title Research: Watch the Titles Website

I researched the website Watch the Titles! to learn more about title sequences and how to make great ones. I really enjoyed this site. I think I even liked it better than Art of the Title. It showed a wide variety of title sequence examples from movie and TV to student projects and video games. What I also liked about this website was that it also showed you various designers and studios that create title sequences. I really enjoyed watching some of the interviews with designers, and that really helped understanding what goes into making a great title sequence. Aside from watching interviews I was really able to see so many different types of title sequences. I spent a lot of time going watching all the different title sequences. I even learned about "French Fridays". It's not something I am particularly interested in, but it was kind of cool. I got a lot of really great insight into making title sequences.

  Creative Critical Reflection 1.   1.  . How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or  issues? m  My video challenges conventions by showing two boys falling in love, instead of the typical guy/girl dynamic. It shows two guys slowly getting to know each other and growing closer, just like how real world relationships work. It also shows it in a romantic, innocent way versus how gay relationships are often portrayed in the media. The way gay relationships are portrayed in the media tend to be typically negative, secretive, and/or "dirty", and involve sex versus shy, innocence and hand holding.       It represents social groups because it represents gay youths and uses trans and non-binary people in the filming. Representation is important. Seeing romantic relationships between LGBTQ people should be normalized. We need to see more relationships like this portrayed like this in the media. If i...

Final Task - Opening Title Sequence

https://youtu.be/N5hfNIovlYk And here is my final task. It did not come out as well as I had hoped, but I am very proud of it. After several days of filming and even more days of editing, I have created a finished product that I am happy with. In retrospect, I wish I had filmed more takes and that the energy in the scenes was a bit livelier. Looking back the parts that I thought would be easy were incredibly hard, and the parts I thought would be a breeze, really made me stumble and slowed me down. I hope you enjoy my opening title sequence.
