Planning for Final Task: Schedule, Location, Participants, and Health

Schedule:

3/5/21 to 3/11/21: Begin filming. I will start by shooting the first 5 scenes and shooting some footage of the front of the house. 

3/12/21 to 3/18/21: Continue filming scenes, especially ones with my costar as they can only film with me on the weekends. Review footage that has already been filmed

3/19/21 to 3/25/21: Complete filming. This will also entail re-filming any scenes that I am not satisfied  with.

3/26/21 to 4/1/2021: Begin editing immediately. I will be uploading the scenes I've filmed to Power Director.

4/2/21 to 4/8/21:  Continuing editing. Ask for input from family and friends on what I have completed so far.

4/9/21 to 4/15/21: Work on the finishing touches and finalize my task. Complete required reflection questions and submit to Cambridge for evaluation.

Location:

I will be filming at my house, filming predominantly in my room and the hall leading up to it, and using the front of my house as the haunted location.

Health and Safety

My parents volunteered to act as our "safety team" by making sure everything was clean and sanitary by following Covid 19 prevention protocols. Faith and I have been in contact throughout the pandemic and out families keep in constant contact concerning exposure risks. 

They also watched the street for cars while we filmed scenes in front of the house. My mom had her cell phone ready to call 911 if there were any problems. There was a also a First Aid kit prepared should there be any unforeseen accidents or injuries.

Creative Critical Reflection: Music Video

  Creative Critical Reflection 1.   1.  . How does your product use or challenge conventions AND how does it represent social groups or  issues? m  My video challenges conventions by showing two boys falling in love, instead of the typical guy/girl dynamic. It shows two guys slowly getting to know each other and growing closer, just like how real world relationships work. It also shows it in a romantic, innocent way versus how gay relationships are often portrayed in the media. The way gay relationships are portrayed in the media tend to be typically negative, secretive, and/or "dirty", and involve sex versus shy, innocence and hand holding.       It represents social groups because it represents gay youths and uses trans and non-binary people in the filming. Representation is important. Seeing romantic relationships between LGBTQ people should be normalized. We need to see more relationships like this portrayed like this in the media. If i...

Final Task - Opening Title Sequence

https://youtu.be/N5hfNIovlYk And here is my final task. It did not come out as well as I had hoped, but I am very proud of it. After several days of filming and even more days of editing, I have created a finished product that I am happy with. In retrospect, I wish I had filmed more takes and that the energy in the scenes was a bit livelier. Looking back the parts that I thought would be easy were incredibly hard, and the parts I thought would be a breeze, really made me stumble and slowed me down. I hope you enjoy my opening title sequence.
