Final Task CCR Complete Edited Interview (youtube embedded)

Image
This is my final completed CCR video in its entirety. I was correct in thinking I did not film enough for each segment. Through editing, I lost some minutes, making my entire CCR interview a few minutes shorter than I wanted it to be. Public speaking has never been a strong suit for me. I tend to get very tongue tied and forgetful.  https://youtu.be/E_g5VqMfIDA

Final Task CCR Question 4

This the last clip from my CCR interview. I this filter might be my favorite...but that might be just because I love ducks.  I am almost positive that I did not film enough footage for my complete video. I do not do well with interviews, even when I have notes. I just seem to forget everything I want to say.

Final Task CCR Question 3

This filter was a lot of fun. This clip is not fully edited and will be cleaned up more on the final embedded youtube video. I am finding that much of what I filmed for the interview was not usable. I have concerns about time.

Final Task CCR Question 2

This is sequence relating to question 2. I am continuing with the weird filters. I think it adds to the comedic aspect and goes along with my genre.

Final Task CCR Interview Question 1

This is the first question/part of my CCR Interview video. I thought it would be fun to use different filters for each question.

Final Task - Opening Title Sequence

Image
https://youtu.be/N5hfNIovlYk And here is my final task. It did not come out as well as I had hoped, but I am very proud of it. After several days of filming and even more days of editing, I have created a finished product that I am happy with. In retrospect, I wish I had filmed more takes and that the energy in the scenes was a bit livelier. Looking back the parts that I thought would be easy were incredibly hard, and the parts I thought would be a breeze, really made me stumble and slowed me down. I hope you enjoy my opening title sequence.

Production - Editing/Final Revisions Final Task #11

I reviewed all of my notes and made the changes as best I could. I first focused on how one scene went into the next. I swapped a few out for some I had already discarded. I even blended a a couple scenes into one, and I think it worked out pretty well. I spent several hours reworking the scenes to a point that I was far more satisfied with than when I originally made the sequence. Next I moved on to the titles. I knew when I finished the first time that it wasn't the best. I was not at all surprised that everyone had problems reading them. I tried some different fonts until I found one that was similar to to the one I liked, but was still readable. I really wanted to keep the moving titles, so I made sure to pick a font that would work well with that. The way the titles moved on and off screen were problematic as well, so I decided to KISS - Keep it simple stupid! I thought the letters spinning on and off screen would enhance my sequence, but it just made it confusing and did no...

Production - Editing/Reviewing Final Task #10

Image
First I showed my sequence to my family. While they were supportive, they pointed out several issues. Most of the issues had to do with how scenes went from one to another. They also pointed out some issues with the readability of the titles.  They also pointed out that I had forgotten to add the music to my sequence. I cannot believe I had completely forgotten to add the music. If I am being honest with myself, I agreed with all of their criticisms. I knew those parts weren't the best. Next, I showed my friends....who also pointed out that I forgot the music. They had similar criticisms as my family, but really had the biggest issues with the font of the titles and the speed in which they moved on and off screen. They said you just can't read it and it is really confusing. I was really trying hard not to take it personally, but it was hard. I worked really hard on my sequence and didn't think it needed that much tweaking. I knew there were problems, I just did not realiz...

Production - Editing Final Task #9

Image
Finally finished editing. That was incredibly harder than I thought it would be. Stitching together all the scenes proved more difficult that ever imagined it would be, and I filmed way too much footage. I had to cut entire scenes to make it all fit into two minutes. I tried to make it as smooth as I could, but I don't know that I was as successful as I hoped it would be. Adding the titles was a bit easier, but not as easy as I thought it would be. I really struggled with placement, font, and the speed at which the letters moved on and off screen. I realized too late that in shooting my scenes I was not making a conscious effort to leave room for the titles. I also did not allow for enough time in some shots to get them on. Another issue I ran into was that the fonts I chose may not be readable. When I show the sequence to family and friends, I am sure that will be one of the issues. Lastly, I was having an issue with picking the direction in which the letters moved on and off the...

Production - Editing Final Task #8

Image
Apparently I had too high hopes for myself. I really thought I was going to finish editing this weekend, but I only got partway through it. I do have to say that narrowing down the amount of clips I had helped immensely. I was less stressed starting to edit with less options to choose from. While I did not finish editing the whole thing, I am pretty sure that I can get it done over the next couple of days. And that includes adding the titles and music. I am trying not to get myself too stressed out about it, but it is very hard. This project was so much more intense than I thought it would be. I wish I had allowed myself more time for certain parts of it. Better equipment would have helped make filming much easier too. I also wish I was better at filming and editing...that is really the biggest thing. I can't beat myself up over it though, or I will just stress myself out again. I know that I am doing the best I can with the skills and equipment that I have. During the next two da...

Production - Editing Final Task #7

Image
I got myself so lost and confused starting to edit. I think I have too many clips and am completely overwhelmed by them. I'm cleaning up all of them, but am pretty sure I need to downsize the amount that I have. I am running into the problem of one scene will go great with one clip, but not with the one that comes after it. I feel like I've spent hours moving the same 6 clips around. It is extremely frustrating and making me really edgy and grouchy. What I really need to do is downsize the amount of clips that I have. It is too hard when you have 5 clips of the same scene. Maybe just narrow it down to two and it will be easier to go from there. I think I will create a separate folder for the discarded scenes, just in case something I chose just really doesn't work.  I'll be stepping away from the editing app for tonight. Tomorrow I will focus on downsizing my clips. Saturday and Sunday will be dedicated to stitching all the clips together into a (hopefully) cohesive op...
